In 2017, Gucci released the hugely popular white floral fragrance Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum. The brand stated that this tuberose-dominant fragrance “is created to unfold like its name, capturing the rich scent of a thriving garden filled with an abundance of flowers”.
Well, it was only a matter of time before an enticing follow-up, this time with gardenia. The 2021 release of Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia with Miley Cyrus as the face of the fragrance has now hit the shelves.

Let’s dive straight into my review & comparison of Gucci Bloom vs Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, plus my choice of the outright winner.
1. Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum
Review
Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is a confident and carefree white floral fragrance released in 2017. Alberto Morillas is the nose behind this first Gucci Bloom scent.
This fragrance is beautifully floral from the start, with delicate jasmine gently blooming. Fragrant tuberose in the heart is fresh and inviting.
Upon dry-down, Rangoon Creeper (a flower from southern India) provides some intriguing powdery and sweet honeysuckle-like scent. Settles to a pretty white floral bouquet with discreet powdery sweetness.
When comparing, I would say Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is more of a straight-up white floral, whilst Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia is also white floral but has a delicious sweet edge.
Overall, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is a beautifully balanced feminine fragrance ideal for daytime wear. Similar to Diptyque Don Son Eau de Parfum. If you have one, I would probably not purchase the other, in all honesty.

With its easy-going personality, Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum is best suited for spring and summer. I would wear this as a daytime scent for casual events, shopping trips, lunches, etc.
The performance is reasonable considering it’s a straight-up white floral scent, projecting well for the first 2 hours, lasting 5+ hours just above the skin.

Review
Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum is a beautifully blended white floral fragrance that begs for spring and summer. This uplifting gardenia scent was released in 2021 and created by perfumer genius Alberto Morillas.
Opening notes of sweet pear blossom and fragrant jasmine are clean, feminine and fresh. Gardenia explodes from the heart to become the star of the show.
Brown sugar adds some welcome sweetness and slight muskiness. This fragrance settles to an effortlessly feminine white floral scent that is uplifting and cheerful.
Overall, this is a beautifully balanced white floral scent and a solid release from Gucci, who rarely put a foot wrong. A blind buy if you are looking for a clean but slightly sweet floral fragrance for the warm weather.
With Miley Cyrus as the face of this fabulous Gucci release, I am sure it will be incredibly popular with young and more mature fragrance lovers alike.

For me, this is a gorgeous spring and summer fragrance (and easing into autumn). Perfect for daytime wear to garden parties, summer walks, afternoon events such as weddings.
The performance is pretty good too, and the gardenia/brown sugar work well together. On my skin, Gorgeous Gardenia lasted 5+ hours with noticeable sillage and projection.

Overall, both fragrances are well-balanced white floral scents that smell feminine and perform pretty well. For a traditional white floral fragrance I recommend Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum, for a white floral scent with a brown sugar kick, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum is a great choice.
