G-Dragon Infinite Challenge 2015.jpg[edit]

Hi. have you not checked the archive page? That's a cc-by licence right there at the bottom of the page if you hover over the small circle icon with the person in it. This website was created by a fan photographer who attended concerts and events with a pro camera. It's a common thing in Korea. That's why we archived the source page, to have proof of licence. Xia (talk) 13:03, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@XiaYes, I did. But all the photos cannot be displayed on the archive page. I was unable to verify if it was published on that website and I also noticed its source file has been deleted. If you think it's necessary to discuss it in depth, please change the speedy deletion into a regular deletion discussion. Larryasou (talk) 13:35, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please understand that my English skills are not good. In the case of (조경철천문대.jpg), the link I originally used was marked with CCL.119.204.148.84 07:16, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@GksyyCC License has different versions. The mobile view doesn't make it clear which version number is used while the desktop view does. Larryasou (talk) 07:49, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
After accessing through the link I posted, click the (cc) icon next to the date to see CCL information. Also, the deletion request I made was a mistake.Gksyy (talk) 08:02, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Gksyy Please don't remove deletion tag before the discussion closed. You should express your opinion on the deletion request page Commons:Deletion requests/File:조경철천문대.jpg Larryasou (talk) 08:37, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay. Also, the reason the URL is long is to make it easier to check the CCL, so please do not shorten it. Gksyy (talk) 08:48, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Gksyy The short URL does show the license at the bottom right corner. It also links to the full text of the terms cc-by-2.0-kr. But the mobile URL dones't represent the original size photo and complete license. Larryasou (talk) 09:02, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Gksyy If we can't reach a consensus, I suggest to ask a experienced user, generally a admin, to reach a verdict. Larryasou (talk) 10:52, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
OK. Since I only work on mobile devices, I didn't know if I could check the CCL using that URL. And the link to File:J.Fla ..jpg has been modified. Also, it seems that File:정세온1.jpg was uploaded incorrectly, so it needs to be deleted. Gksyy (talk) 03:04, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Android screenshots[edit]

Hello! Can you make more free Android screenshots? Артём 13327 (talk) 09:43, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Артём 13327 Sure. Please tell me what kind of screenshots you want. Larryasou (talk) 10:13, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Android 12 and 13, since the screenshots that are uploaded here unfortunately probably contain non-free wallpapers. Артём 13327 (talk) 10:20, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
And if possible, take these screenshots but with Russian localization Артём 13327 (talk) 10:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
OK. It's gonna take a while... Larryasou (talk) 10:37, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you Артём 13327 (talk) 10:38, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Артём 13327 Please see my upload history. Larryasou (talk) 12:27, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Do you have Android 12 or 12.1 in your screenshot? Артём 13327 (talk) 12:50, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Артём 13327 It is 12 version. File:Android 12 screenshot (en).png. Larryasou (talk) 12:54, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What versions of Android emulators, besides 5.1, 6, 12 and 13, have you downloaded? So it would be desirable to replace many Android screenshots Артём 13327 (talk) 13:08, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
By the way, in the screenshots there are icons for YouTube, Chrome and Messages from Google. But considering that the icons of these applications are stored separately here, perhaps this is not a problem. Артём 13327 (talk) 13:16, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think that's enough. Do you need more? Larryasou (talk) 13:17, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is it possible to take a screenshot of 12.1? Still, 12 and 12.1 are different, it seems that in 12.1 they changed the default wallpaper to the ones that are now in Android 13 Артём 13327 (talk) 13:32, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Version 12.1 is visually identical to version 13,no difference. Larryasou (talk) 13:36, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Uploaded Unsplash Copyright-free Photos that have been deleted[edit]

The content I shared has specific CC license that allow them to be used freely without the permission. I have provided the source I have obtained each from. The Unsplash is allows all its content to be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes as stated in its License.

I believe I have followed all copyright usage instructions and I have provided license information for each source I have used.

To elaborate more, Unsplash photos are licensed under the Unsplash License, which allows users to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use the photos for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from or attributing the photographer or Unsplash. more information on https://unsplash.com/license Farshadsadri (talk) 09:26, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Farshadsadri I'm sorry I forget to explain why on your page. The Unsplash license has a term that Photos cannot be sold without significant modification, that is, if you upload photos to Commons from Unsplash as is, commercial use of them are not allowed. And the community has made it clear that media published on Unsplash from 5 June 2017 onwards is not considered to be freely licensed and can't be accepted on Commons. Please see {{Unsplash}} for details. Larryasou (talk) 09:47, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you the explaining the reasons, I was not aware of the 20177 CC0 rule. Farshadsadri (talk) 10:20, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Historic England User Photos[edit]

Hi, you've flagged a few photos I've uploaded from Historic England's comment page. Their terms and conditions page says "You (or the copyright owner) remain the owner of copyright in your Contribution but in addition to clause 5.3 (see paragraph above) you agree that users of the Website may copy, modify, edit, reproduce, display, publish or otherwise make use of all or part of your Contribution on a royalty free basis." - https://historicengland.org.uk/terms/website-terms-conditions/missing-pieces-contribution-terms/ - section 5. This, to me, (I may be incorrect) is like a Commons Zero waiver.Bellminsterboy (talk) 21:25, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Bellminsterboy Thank you for your explanation. I‘m not aware of these terms because they are actually not cc0. I will remove the warning later and update the correct license. Larryasou (talk) 21:33, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Bellminsterboy BTW, do you have the web page url where the image File:Worcester Cathedral from Fort Royal.jpg is displayed? That is, the web page containing the file. Larryasou (talk) 22:24, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi, thank you. Is this what you're after? https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1389728?section=comments-and-photos - might have to scroll down a bit to see it. Bellminsterboy (talk) 22:32, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Bellminsterboy Thank you. It's best to provide the link to the web page in case someone might be interested in these photo and want to communicate the author. Larryasou (talk) 02:49, 25 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, thanks for updating the photos concerned. I thought that was the end of the matter but deletion requests seem to have been reopened for all of them, and I'm a little confused as to why? I thought we'd decided the terms allow for any use, with the copyright remaining with the photographer. Thanks. Bellminsterboy (talk) 23:39, 30 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Bellminsterboy In fact, I asked an experienced user about the terms, who believe it's not a copyright-free license. According the terms, a free permission is only granted to the website and its users while Wikimedia commons demands the author allows anyone to use the material for any purpose. 0x0a (talk) 04:43, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
