Cropping of images

Hello. Do not, please, crop parts of images for removing watermarks. Such damaging of images is even worse than watermarks. Sneeuwschaap (talk) 07:27, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

Same thing for File:DE CAUNES EMMA-24X30-2005.jpg. There has been long discussions about the Studio Harcourt images and the consensus was that the watermark can be considered a signature and should be kept ; alternative versions can be uploaded as separate files. Please do not overwrite the images.

Also cropping, while sometimes the only way, cropping is a fairly poor way of removing watermarks − see for example File:AZEMA Sabine H-24x30-1996-withoutWatermark.jpg vs File:AZEMA Sabine H-24x30-1996.jpg

Malfunctioning script cropping randomly

Please cease cropping until you checked and fixed all previous overwrites.

A watermark generally can't be cropped, it needs to be edited out. You are confusing watermarks with legends at the bottom of images. Enhancing999 (talk) 16:41, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
